A New Chapter

FSU Football Predictions for the 2025-26 Year

The time is here that every college student and alum has been waiting for: college football is back! Late Saturday nights, tailgates and concessions are all on the menu for a good time. With Saturday Aug. 30 arriving, college fans are getting ready for game day, especially FSU fans. With the start of the season, Florida State football is preparing for their first home game. The main question everyone is wondering: what will they bring to the field this year.

Last year, Florida State football went 2-10, struggling to get through a tough season of injuries and inconsistent plays. Both sides of the ball faced many challenges, with both players and fans getting frustrated and disappointed with the season.

“I think they are going to do better this year than last year,” junior Avery Campbell said. “But I do not think they are going to do great because they do not have as many good players like they did last year.”

At the end of last season, Florida State lost a significant number of players to the transfer portal and NFL draft. In total, they lost 26 players, including quarterback DJ Uiagalelei to the Los Angeles Chargers and defensive end Partick Payton who transferred to LSU. With the loss of many key players, fans are wondering what the team is going to look like for the 2025-26 season.

Even with the loss of players, FSU football has gained new players that could help advance the team this year. Some new additions are quarterback Tommy Castellanos, wide receivers Duce Robinson and Squirrel White and freshman Jayvan Boggs who earned a starting spot as a wide receiver.

“I feel like the season can only go up from last year,”  history teacher Stephanie Amidon said. “I am a little concerned about the quarterback situation this year but I think with the excitement about the renovations to the stadium and the support from the community every year the Seminoles have a chance to have a good season.”

In their opening game, FSU beat Alabama 31-17, marking the first time since 2001 Alabama has lost a season opener. With a shocking and amazing takedown, fans stormed the field to celebrate what they hope is the start of a promising and improved season.

Florida State will next play East Texas A&M on Saturday, Sept. 6, home in Tallahassee, hoping to collect another win and show everyone the comeback in store for the year.
