2026 Cum Laude Society Induction

On Tuesday, April 14, the newest Maclay members of the Cum Laude Society were inducted. To gain membership, juniors must be in the top 10 percent of their class in terms of weighted GPA, and seniors have to be in the top 20 percent.
The ceremony began with the students lined up in alphabetical order from seniors followed by juniors. Then, they progressed into Langford Hall, where Head of School James Milford gave a short welcome speech. Both students and guests were then invited to grab a bite from the catered lunch provided by Gordos. The menu included steak tips, herb lemon chicken, rice, roasted vegetables, salad, fruit and dessert. Lemonade, tea and water were provided as refreshments.
After the lunch, Mr. William Krizner, this year’s guest speaker, gave an inspiring speech about success and the importance of gratitude. This was followed by the official induction, where the students were called up to receive their certificate and pin. Two faculty members were also inducted into the society: English teachers Lauren Fantle and Rikki Overstreet. Lastly, a group photo was taken with all new inductees.
