Review of “3 Body Problem”

Imagine the world being judged by another celestial body that is planning on taking over our planet. These “things” have advanced technology that is unfathomable to humans. Will humans defeat the aliens or will our planet be taken over? This is the main premise of the new Netflix show, “3 Body Problem.” Multiple scientists discover that aliens are coming and they will have to be the ones to find a way to stop them. The audience will find out with the incredible episode development, breathtaking character development as well as the extraordinary plot.

One season includes eight episodes for the audience to discover that we are not alone in the world. Auggie, Jin, Jack, Will and Saul all are incredibly intelligent and all work together to solve a problem. The supposed problem is that scientists keep on killing themselves with no explanation and they thought all they needed to discover was why but there is a little bit more. In this TV the episode development is top tier.  Throughout the show the audience is faced with what seems to be a small problem, but as the episodes continue, the full plot is revealed. Episode by episode lures the audience in more and more leaving them with questions but at the same time satisfaction with the episode. This is by far one of the most magnificent episode development viewers have ever watched. In addition to the episode development, is the character development.

Auggie, Jin, Jack, Will and Saul in the beginning seem to distance themselves from the audience but as the episodes continue so do their personalities. Not just the scientist developed in the film but also other characters such as Da Shi and Ye Wenjie. Some characters develop in ways the audience never expects and some develop in a way that will bring tears to your eyes. The characters make the viewers feel what they feel and know what they know making the viewers grow with the character. Each character is different from who they were in the being. The audience gets to watch them grow and see unexpected changes for better or for worse. The character development was overall incredible and really showed how amazing actors can be.

Not only are the acting and episodes good, but so is the plot. This TV show puts the audience through a rabbit hole that seems to never end. The plot is introduced early in the series in a way unexpected to the audience but leaves the audience with satisfaction. The viewers never know what is going to happen next leaving them on their toes the whole show making the plot even greater. The only thing that should have changed was the ending of the show. It leaves the audience with a cliffhanger that needs to be answered. If the series added one more episode summing everything up and answering all questions, this TV would be nothing short of perfect.

Anyone who is scrolling through Netflix and needs a show that will hook them within the first few minutes should watch “3 Body Problems.” Everything in the show is perfect and the directors are planning another season to answer all the viewers' questions that they were left with.
