From  Dec. 8 to 12,the week before finals, Maclay Upper School had a Christmas themed dress down week. During this week, students were encouraged to show holiday spirit by wearing festive clothing that aligned with the day’s theme. Any students not following the theme of a certain day were dress coded.

On Monday, students were given the opportunity to wear pajamas to school, with the theme, “Waking up in a Winter Wonderland.” On Tuesday, the theme was “Dress Like Your Favorite Winter Movie Character.” Wednesday was “Color Wars,” where each grade was assigned a different color to wear: freshmen were green, sophomores were blue, juniors were red and seniors were white. “Ugly Sweater Day” was the theme for Thursday, where students are encouraged to wear an ugly or festive sweater. On Friday, the theme was “Frozen Friday,” and students could wear clothing from Disney’s movie “Frozen,” winter-themed colors or festive clothing.

On Wednesday, the Upper School was visited by Redemptive Love Farm, and students were given the opportunity to pet and feed a variety of animals during the day. This allowed students to de-stress right before midterms. Additionally, on Thursday, students could participate in an ugly sweater contest and a hot cocoa bar in the courtyard.
