Learning With Snacks

Preschool Pilgrim Day

Symbols - Preschool teachers brought snacks that each symbolize a different aspect of Thanksgiving.

Decorations - The preschoolers get to decorate their hallways with Pilgrim versions of themselves.

Thankful - The preschoolers make placemats telling what they are grateful for. Wyatt is grateful for his grandparents.

Circle - The preschoolers gather in a circle to learn about the Pilgrims.

Special - Each preschooler has Thanksgiving paper. In the headshot, they are dressed as the Pilgrims.

Listen - Preschoolers sit behind their placemats and listen attentively to learn the history behind Thanksgiving and why we celebrate.

Together - After learning about the symbol for each snack, preschoolers get to add snacks to a bowl in pairs.

Questions - Preschoolers raise their hands to answer questions about the first Thanksgiving.

Cornucopia - A teacher explains a story behind cornucopia, represented in their bowl by Bugles, which symbolizes an abundance of food.

Feast - After a meaningful lesson, preschoolers finally get to enjoy the snacks and all their new knowledge.
