1. The Dances

Whether it be prom, sadies or homecoming, Maclay dances are some of the most fun events of the year. With unique themes like “Bridgerton” and “The Great Gatsby,” the fun decorations add an immersive aspect to the dance environment. Plus, the sports games the night before the dances bring everyone together and boost school spirit. Dance activities such as dressing up with your fellow Marauders and taking pictures at the photo booth create some of the best memories at Maclay.

2. Annual Class Trips

Whether it be sophomore safari, the junior ski trip or Grad Bash, Maclay’s annual class trips are the highlights of the school experience. These trips offer the chance to travel somewhere new with classmates and make core memories. Whether you’re rooming with friends, shopping, swimming, skiing or riding roller coasters, the activities are entertaining and memorable.

3. Freshmen Challenge

This event brings together upperclassmen and freshmen for a day of energy and bonding. Upperclassmen can volunteer as mentors to guide freshmen through various activities throughout the day. Each freshmen group gets assigned a color with a unique nickname, and each individual freshmen gets their own nicknames, making the experience even more memorable. Activities such as the lip-sync battle are always entertaining and lead to lots of laughter.

4. Powderpuff Game 

This game is both fun and competitive with girls taking the field to play football while the boys act as coaches and cheerleaders. It’s always full of laughs, surprises and bonding. The teams go all out with painted jerseys, eye black and face paint. Every year it’s exciting to see who plays on each team, who emerges as Most Valuable Player (MVP) and which class comes out on top.

5. Marauder Madness Week

This is a week filled with school spirit, fun activities and creative outfits. There are days like pajama day that are classic and always nice, but there are also other themes that have students and teachers dressing up in fun costumes. With games and challenges where students can win prizes, Marauder Madness week is easily one of the top Maclay events.
