On Jan. 2, Emma Chamberlain released an episode of her podcast, “Anything Goes,”  about her first heartbreak that has since been deleted. In the podcast, she talked about how this relationship was detrimental to her mental health, and fans have speculated who this episode is about. In 2018, four YouTubers collaborated and called themselves The Sister Squad. This group included James Charles, Ethan and Grayson Dolan, along with Chamberlain. Viewers suspected Chamberlain and E. Dolan had a hidden relationship off camera, but no one confirmed this directly. However, Chamberlain’s new podcast years later alludes to it and confirms these past suspicions.

Rumors about the two date back to years ago, when the four YouTubers collaborated on their first video on E. and G. Dolan’s YouTube called “MUKBANG ft. James Charles & Emma Chamberlain.” In the video, E. Dolan and Chamberlain sit close together and constantly make eye contact. As the group continued to make videos, these creators were seen on camera more frequently. The more videos were made, the harder it was not to notice the chemistry between Chamberlain and E. Dolan. The two would constantly comment on each other’s social media and post together but never confirmed anything. This went on for a year before it all went downhill. In 2019, the group stopped posting together, unfollowed one another and none of them ever discussed what happened, but netizens have come to their own conclusions.

“I really liked watching The Sister Squads videos,” senior Stella Matheson said. “I thought they were really funny and I was sad when they disappeared, and I thought maybe it was because they were having bad relations with one another.”

Many fans thought the reason why the group was no longer in contact was possibly due to Chamberlain and E. Dolan’s breakup, but no YouTuber in the group revealed any details. In 2020, Charles made a video featuring Chamberlain showing they were on good terms. As for E. and G. Dolan, they have not mentioned Charles or Chamberlain, suggesting there might still be tension between them. All were silent about The Sister Squad until Chamberlain released the episode on her podcast.

In this episode, she talked about her first ever relationship she had at 17, the same age she was while in Sister Squad. She talked about the amount of love she had for one boy and how, although they were only together for nine months, it felt like a lifetime. She also mentioned that her ex-boyfriend was manipulative. Although Chamberlain did not name the person she was talking about, fans have believed it must be about E. Dolan.

“I was utterly shocked to hear that there was such darkness in their (Chamberlain and E. Dolan’s) relationship as a viewer of both of them and the entire Sister Squad,” senior Bella Evans said. “It really was kind of hard to hear because I really thought and did not realize that it ended so horribly.”

Chamberlain also discussed that the boy left her without an explanation, which made her question everything. Chamberlain’s psyche took a huge toll after the relationship, and she expressed how bad her mental health was and how she got through it.

“I listened to the whole podcast and all of the different episodes to hear what she was saying, and I was kind of shocked by it,” freshman Molly Lambert said.

Many people have been shocked after listening to the podcast about all the personal revelations she shares. Due to the backlash on E. Dolan, she has deleted this episode. Many want her to confirm that the person is E. Dolan, but fans know it is unlikely.
