The sun’s out, and the flowers have begun to bloom. The sun’s warm glow fills the sky, with a gentle breeze drifting through the air. The sound of the birds has returned, and the air is filled with an earthy scent. Bringing beautiful views and nice temperatures, spring has arrived. During students' annual break from school, there’s much to do, even for those staying in town. For those who are, here are five of the best spring activities to enjoy during the break.
1. Picnic
With the warm weather and sun, take the time to relax outside! Lay out a blanket and bask in the sunlight. Enjoy the breeze and eat tasty snacks while doing cute activities. Bring paints and pencils to draw the nature around. Throw a party! Gatherings such as tea parties with friends are perfect at this time of year. Whether it's a social or calm activity, picnics are the perfect way to take advantage of spring.
2. Hiking
Take the time to enjoy the nice weather while staying active. Go for a walk or run and enjoy the beauty around while keeping fit. Explore new hiking trails, appreciating the sights and sounds around. Listen to the outdoors or music on headphones, whatever brings calm and peace. Whichever you do, take the time to be active outdoors and enjoy what spring has to offer.
3. Day Trip
If one has the time, they should get out of the house for a day. Visit a nearby town or even go to the closest beach to take advantage of the moderate temperature. Visit one of the many places that have nature festivals and farmers markets at this time of year. Take a minute to explore them and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding wilderness. Snack on the local farm fruit while admiring nature and capturing cute photos.
4. Pickleball
While the weather is moderate outside, grab a friend and head to the pickleball courts. If friends are occupied or out of town, take a family member instead. Lean into the fun and competitive atmosphere of pickleball. Take full advantage of spring’s weather and enjoy the game.
5. Gardening
In light of “Spring Forward,” spring is a great time to pick up a new hobby or hone an existing one. Gardening is an activity that’s ideal to start in the spring. The climate provides the perfect weather for many crops to flourish and grow. Take the time this spring break to start or add to a garden, whether it be with fruits, vegetables or flowers. Gardening leaves one feeling fresh and accomplished as the results begin to show.
