On Tuesday, Mar. 10 the Maclay boys varsity lacrosse team scraped by the Lincoln Trojans to secure their third win of the season. After entering the match with a 2–2 record, the Marauders needed a victory to get on the right path for a winning season.

Riding the momentum from a two-game winning streak, Maclay came in ready to dominate the Trojans on the field. Despite their enthusiasm from the previous games, Maclay got off to a slow start and trailed 1–0 at the end of the first quarter. However, the team bounced back quickly in the second, forcing a tie of 3-3 heading into halftime. Heading into the fourth, Maclay was tied 5–5 and needed to pull ahead of the Trojans. Maclay ended up outscoring Lincoln 3-2 in the fourth, resulting in an 8-7 Marauder victory.

“This win was pretty exciting,” freshman Clayton Antohi said. “This was the first in-town rival we beat, so it meant a lot. I think we didn’t play our best, but we still came out with the win, which is the most important thing.”

The Marauders’ next game is on Mar. 30 at 7 p.m. against Oak Hall at home. Come out to Frank Shaw to support your Maclay boys’ lacrosse team at upcoming games!
