The Maclay boys soccer team played their first game against the Suwanee Bulldogs on Nov. 4, 2025. After a pre-season tournament championship against Chiles, Maclay was ready for their first challenge of the year. After winning the state championship the year before, the Marauders were ready to defend their title this season.

In the first quarter, sophomore Ben Gregory scored the first goal of the game, but the goal was reversed due to an offside call. A few minutes later, senior Zach Ghazvini retaliated and scored, giving Maclay the lead going into the half.

“Our team dynamic has been pretty good so far," senior Santi Nunez said. “We are all still learning how to play together. But we hope to still reach our goal of reaching the final four.”

After halftime, Maclay took over the game completely. The Marauders scored four more goals, making the final score of the game 5-0. Senior Luke Daunt scored two of these goals, one of which came from a penalty kick. The other two goals were scored by Nunez and freshman Grant Ulrich. The Marauders next game is on Friday, Nov. 7, when the Marauders take on the Lawton Chiles Timberwolves at home.
