Maclay School Prom 2026

On Saturday, March 28, Maclay held its annual prom at the FSU Alumni Center. The theme for the evening, “A Night in Disguise,” encouraged juniors and seniors to dress in elegant evening attire with a masquerade mask.
Guests entered on a red carpet lined with lanterns before filling out a form to vote for prom queen and king. Candidates up for nomination were juniors Layla Hafez and Shaw Sembler and Will James and Macy Cureton, and seniors Anna Chuku and Will Hunkapiller, Lillian Koeppel and Abram Wildrick and Claire Smith and Ben Thompson.
The interior of the alumni center flawlessly reflected the masquerade atmosphere, with rose centerpieces and small lanterns on each table. Black and silver masks were also scattered around for students to grab, and a photobooth was available for students to take photos to have a physical keepsake of the memorable night. Additionally, hors d’oeuvres such as cheeseburger sliders, mac and cheese bites and mozzarella sticks were available for quick bites. There was also a selection of petit fours, cookies and brownies to choose from.
“I really enjoyed the smaller setting [of only juniors and seniors] because it allowed for more fun between friends,” junior Elsa Bykova said. “The food provided and the photobooth in particular were really fun, and I enjoyed my time there.”
The evening concluded with the announcement of the prom queen and king, who were Koeppel and Wildrick. They were awarded crowns and special masks on the dance floor as cold sparks shot up in celebration.
