Maclay Mu Alpha Theta Team Competed at Chiles

On Jan. 17, 2025, Maclay’s Mu Alpha Theta team participated in a statewide math competition that was hosted at Chiles. Competitors arrived at 8:30 a.m. for announcements and checked in with the club sponsor, John Gussaroff, where they received their answer sheet for the individual testing. Precalculus and Calculus teams started individual testing at 9:00 a.m. and finished at 10:30 a.m., while the Algebra II and Statistics teams participated in team rounds. Then, from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Precalculus and Calculus teams participated in team rounds, while Algebra II and Statistics teams took their individual tests.
Maclay’s Algebra II team placed ninth out of 10 for their level, the Precalculus team placed seventh out of nine, the Calculus team placed seventh out of 10 and the Statistics team placed seventh out of eight. When ranked among the competing schools, Maclay got the seventh overall highest score out of 16.
