Artists’ Inspiration
Gallery: A Look Into Projects in Design and Collaboration

Art and Collaboration - Upper school arts teacher Kaitlyn Dressel’s Honors Design Collaboration class begins a new project.

Inspire - Each student picks a song lyric or quote and creates something inspired by their chosen line.

Medium - Students get to pick their own medium for their project. They can choose between graphic design, ceramics and photography.

Change - Senior Isabel Davis chose the song “Playmate” by Olive B. She is making a vase that represents change and the human form.

Stars - Senior Charlotte Siervogel chose the quote “Reach for the moon and even if you miss, you will land amongst the stars.” She is going to create a vase with a galactic theme.

Journal - Dressel has her students plan their project in a journal before beginning. Siervogel’s journal shows her plan for her vase.

God - Senior Hunter Smith chose to graphically design his interpretation of 1 Peter 5:7.

White Ferrari - Junior Anna Hawken is inspired by the song “White Ferrari” by Frank Ocean, which is about a car crash. She applies an image of her car to graphic design.

Friendship Bracelet - Senior Riley Robinton is inspired by the song “You’re on Your Own, Kid” by Taylor Swift. She is creating a vase with a friendship bracelet design.

Headlock - Senior Samantha Cherry chose to make a vase inspired by the song “Headlock” by Imogen Heap.
