Maclay Boys Soccer Wins District Title

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the Maclay Marauders boys soccer team defeated the Marianna Bulldogs 5-0 to secure their fourth district title in as many years. This means that seniors Santi Nunez, Reid Roberts, Tyson Willet, Luke Daunt, Elias Strickland and Max Colon have not lost a district game in their career at Maclay. 

Though the team has dominated the season and districts, their further fate for the year will be determined by the bracket selection later this week.

“It feels good,” Roberts said. “Our outlook is to make another deep state run, but we need to rest up for the weeks ahead.”

The Marauders have played seven games in the past two weeks but remain confident that they are capable of making another state championship run. They have retained over half of their state championship team and have multiple athletes ready to etch their mark in Marauder history.
