On Oct. 24, Maclay’s sophomores took their annual field trip to Tallahassee’s Lively Tech College for the World of Work showcase. The World of Work was an opportunity for students to meet with employees in areas of work that potentially interest them. These areas included healthcare, public service, various types of manual work, education and technology, and other various fields.

There was a mix of many different jobs in each section of the career fair, all with unique things to learn. Students had the opportunity to see how electrical systems work, sit in a helicopter and even touch real human lungs. In the healthcare section, for example, general nurses, ultrasound technicians, surgeons, and ER doctors were all available for students to get information about that specific job.

Career Day was a helpful and useful experience for students, as they could see all the distinct jobs that they might want to pursue a passion or a career in.
