Christmas Cheer Is Here
Starbucks Christmas Menu Review
In early November each year, Starbucks releases their holiday drink menu to ring in the Christmas cheer. Fans excitedly await this day and this year’s newest drink additions added some extra holiday spirit. Starbucks added a few new drinks to their holiday menu including the Cran Merry Refreshers, Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai and even a new Bundt Cake. This review contains the dos and don'ts for the newest additions.Â
Cran Merry Orange Refresher (Water, Lemonade or Coconut Milk)
This delicious new refresher includes a sweet blend of cranberry and orange flavors along with various holiday spices. Hints of cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom add a hint of warmth to complete the delicious tart blend. This drink can be ordered with a base of water, lemonade or coconut milk. The water, a simple base, allows the citrus and cranberry flavors within the drink to shine through. The tart cranberry and sweet orange flavors take over the drink with this light and refreshing base. A base of lemonade, my personal favorite, created the perfect blend of tart and sweet. The tart flavors of the lemonade and cranberry mixed with the sweet orange perfectly blended to a tasty drink that is definitely worth ordering again. Lastly, the coconut milk combination was also very tasty. This creamy twist adds a smooth texture to this tart drink. Each version of the drink is an appetizing red color with cranberries floating inside bringing the extra holiday cheer. Overall, the Cran Merry Orange Refresher, no matter what base you choose, is a refreshing and festive new holiday drink that is worth trying.
Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai
This tasty chai blend includes hints of ginger and cinnamon with the addition of a sweet gingerbread syrup. The creamy, nutty blend of the oatmilk is the perfect completion of this delicious drink. As someone who does not normally order chai, this drink was delicious and is definitely worth ordering again. The festive and cozy taste of this drink includes just the right amount of gingerbread. The gingerbread cold foam on top adds the perfect end to the drink. This drink is the perfect option to switch up the pace from the usual holiday flavors.
Turkey Sage Danish
This danish is a delightful addition to the food options. The savory flavor meshes perfectly with the flaky pastry and just the right amount of sage is included. This pastry has a warm and comforting taste that is deliciously hearty. The light and fluffy pastry combined with the savory seasoned turkey is the perfect way to begin the morning or as a satisfying snack. This pastry is perfect for the holiday season and is definitely worth trying.
Dark Toffee Bundt Cake
Although this sounds appetizing by its name, this bundt cake does not quite fulfill its expectations. While the idea of a chocolate cake mixed with sweet toffee flavors seems great, this cake was not well expected. The cake is extremely dry and cold, making it appear unappetizing from the start. The flavors are hardly there and the overall taste is not sweet. Unfortunately, this seemingly tasty cake does not meet the mark of a holiday indulgence.
Penguin Cookie
This buttery shortbread cookie is decorated extremely festively and is just as tasty as it looks. The sweet and crumbly cookie is a delightful snack or dessert to pair alongside your favorite holiday beverage.
Snowman Cake Pop
Everyone loves a delicious Starbucks cake pop. This year, a festive Snowman Cakepop was introduced to the menu. This year, the vanilla cake pop is coated in white chocolate frosting and is adorably decorated as a snowman. This festive treat is perfect for the holiday season.
Overall, the new Starbucks Holiday menu drinks are tasty and worth trying. Although most of them are not quite as delicious as the traditional returning flavors, they are worth a try. Some of the returning favorites include the Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte, Peppermint Mocha and Chestnut Praline Latte. The entire holiday menu never fails to disappoint and is well completed with these new additions.
