Sign Me Up!: Junior Lauren Ferraro signs up for Ears for Elders, a service club that connects students with their elderly community. In the club, members visit elders in assisted living homes and record interviews with them. “My favorite part is talking with the residents,” junior and co-director Karina Ledesma said.

Passion for Music: Junior Lily Money plays the guitar to raise publicity for the Music Club. “Our goal is to bring the same sense of love we have for music to our Maclay community,” Money said. In this club, students practice and perform songs together. Both Money and junior Antonia Nowels run the club and set up the table together.

Cheese!: Senior Molly McDonald is co-president of the Upper School Student Council. “[Student council] is a very great experience,” McDonald said. She put smiley face stickers on her table to give out to other students and shares her positive experiences as a part of the Upper School Student Council.

Poets and Artists: This student sets up the booth for Notes from the Underground. She places previous print releases on the table for students to look at. In this club, students submit literary works and showcase their writing and artistic skills. Both members and non-members can submit material to be included in the print.

Sails Up!: Cayer signs up for the Maclay Sailing Club, run by Nowels. Students who join the club learn more about sailing and are given the opportunity to go sailing on the weekends.

Girl Power: A student signs up for the Women’s Service Club. This club supports women in need. Their club table is decorated with lots of pink and glitter.

Turning Pages: Juniors Sarah Samaan and Ferraro pose in front of their handmade poster for Book Club. In the club, members collectively read a chosen book and meet monthly during lunch to have a discussion about it.

Learning in Latin: This club focuses on the study of Greek, Latin and ancient cultures. “I love the Junior Classical League,” co-vice president Lily Smith said. In the club, Maclay students can compete against other students from across the country. Treasurer Ryan Kahn said his favorite part of the club is Certamen, a Latin-based quiz-style game. Pictured are Lily Smith and Ryan Kahn.

Connecting the Community: Junior Layla Hafez is the president of Maclay’s chapter of Together Tallahassee. Together Tallahassee is a nonprofit organization that connects students with the community around them. The group does lots of service projects and writes letters to nursing home residents to better the community.
