Gallery: Maclay Mathematics and Robotics Building

Floor Plan: Designed by EMI Architects, the new math and robotics building is providing a new place for students to learn and gather. It includes five classrooms as well as outdoor seating for students and faculty.

Geometry: Reflecting the subjects learned inside these buildings, the architecture is full of geometric shapes that offer a modern look to the Maclay campus.

Botanical Future: Outside of the building, there will be a large garden for members of the Maclay community to enjoy from outside, or inside their new classrooms that feature large windows. Next to the garden, there will be a flowing water feature so everyone can enjoy the sound of running water.

Natural Light: One key feature of the classrooms in this new building are the windows. The rooms include large windows allowing for lots of natural light inside the classroom and a beautiful view of nature on Maclay’s campus.

Open and Connected: Due to the openness of the architecture, this new building compliments the flow of the Maclay campus. It provides a path to cut between buildings on both sides of the campus, and includes a bridge leading to this pathway.

Math Mural: The four math buildings that students and teachers will get to enjoy next year all will include a unique mural. The rooms each have a designated color that is featured in the mural and reflected in the carpeting.

New and Improved: Math teachers and students get to enjoy larger and more modern classrooms in this building, along with a more math centered environment.

First Look: Math teachers Katie Walker, John Gussaroff and Charles Allee get to enjoy a tour with Kim McWilliams, Morgan Lewis and the architect Seth Coffin. Coffin explains his plan for the new building and how he and his team executed these plans.

Robotics Classroom: Lewis explains the purpose of the robotics classroom to the math teachers. This classroom will belong to Gussaroff, the robotics teacher.

AI and Robotics: One of the largest upper school classrooms will be this new robotics and AI room. Many classes and clubs will be held here including the robotics team, potential AI courses and middle school robotics.
