Between the scents of pumpkin spice and the colorful leaves filling the air, fall holds much opportunity for autumnal activities. While some fall enthusiasts enjoy the cooler weather, others prefer the cozy atmosphere of the indoors. It can be difficult to find free time in the wake of college applications, midterms and other school chaos, but it’s important to take time to relax and enjoy the fall atmosphere. So, here are five activities that you can do today to savor the fresh autumn air before you have to bundle up for winter.

  1. Pick a Pumpkin

Pumpkin patches are an iconic fall staple. Every year, families and friends walk through the rows of pumpkins, testing weight and shape to find the perfect one. On top of Halloween, pumpkins are great decorations for Thanksgiving and the general fall season. Pumpkin patches are also ideal photo spots with their scarecrows and hay bales, so put on a cute fall outfit and head out to your local patch.

  1. Take a Walk

The fall weather is ideal for neighborhood walks. With a slight breeze and clear skies, fall is the perfect time to get some fresh air. Whether it be a time to catch up with friends or a moment to clear your head, a walk is a great way to enjoy the pleasantries of fall. If it’s cold enough, bring along a jacket and a cup of hot chocolate for extra cozy vibes.

  1. Visit a Coffee Shop

Coffee shops are a cozy atmosphere to chat with a friend or study, and they’re a perfect place to escape the fall chill. From pumpkin spice to cinnamon apple, there are  so many fun coffee flavors to try during the fall. If you’re craving a sweet treat, order a slice of pumpkin bread or coffee cake to complement your drink. Grab a friend and spend the afternoon at your favorite coffee shop!

  1. Do Some Fall Baking

If you want a cozy activity to do within the comfort of your home, there are several tasty fall recipes that you can try in your own kitchen. Pumpkin bread, snickerdoodle cookies, pecan pie and cinnamon apples are all must-haves for the fall season. Put on a cozy movie and invite some friends over to make the atmosphere even more pleasant.

  1. Roast Marshmallows By a Campfire

Sitting around a campfire is a great way to bond with loved ones, and every campfire is better with marshmallows. Whether you’re playing truth or dare, telling spooky stories or simply catching up with friends, a campfire is an ideal way to enjoy the fall weather. If you want to go the extra mile, grab some graham crackers and chocolate to make s’mores.

Even though fall is a chaotic season for many people, you can always find some time to enjoy the cozy autumn atmosphere. Whether you’re a pumpkin spice enthusiast or a lover of the outdoors, there’s a fall activity for you, so gather up your friends and enjoy a relaxing fall activity!
