On Thursday, Oct. 30, the Maclay Girls Weightlifting team traveled to Blountstown for their first meet of the year. At this meet, the Marauders placed first in Olympic and second in Traditional. Many Marauders even won their weight class in both categories, including sixth grader Baillie Vantassel, freshman Bhayva Tatini,  juniors Regan Pickles and Katie Nation and seniors Josey Becker, Mya Champion and Ella Pike. This performance was extremely impressive for the Marauders as they came on top in over half of the weightclasses.

“At this meet, so many girls got PRs,” Nation said. “Everyone truly tried their best even though it was the first meet.”

The Marauders’ next meet is on Monday, Nov. 3, at Suwannee, where they look to keep lifting big.
