Maclay’s Dress Code During the Cold Season

As the seasons change and the Tallahassee weather fluctuates, Maclay students are trying to find the proper attire to keep warm on campus. Since jeans are only allowed on Fridays, students are trying to find alternatives to avoid wearing skirts and shorts for the rest of the week.

Students may wear jackets or sweatshirts in Maclay colors that do not display wording or logos unassociated with Maclay. These colors include the Maclay shades of blue, gray, khaki and white. While tops aren’t a big concern of students, what to wear for bottoms is a challenge. Last year, most students decided to wear black slacks or business pants to stay warm, but with the new color policy, those are not permitted under the dress code anymore. On the other hand, any other Maclay color slacks or business pants are allowed.

The most difficult challenge coming from the dress code is girls trying to find a stylish replacement for skirts. Many girls can be seen around campus wearing pants or leggings and thermal tights underneath their skirts to stay warm.

Pairing all these items with warm shoes and a scarf can also add extra warmth and can make any outfit even cuter.

As the weather gets colder each day and Maclay continues to have chilly school days, make sure you are wearing proper cold-weather attire while also staying in dress code.
