2026 Soccer World Cup

The FIFA World Cup is an international soccer tournament occurring every four years. The next men’s world cup will be played this summer and will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) decided to change rules for the 2026 tournament; the number of countries allowed to qualify this year expanded from 32 to 48.

Led by Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino and Captain Christian Pulisic, the United States Men’s National Team will be playing their first games against Paraguay and Australia in Group D. Fans are excited because the U.S previously beat the two countries in November friendlies; 2-1 against Australia and 2-1 against Paraguay.

Because the world cup is coming to the U.S this year, Tallahassee soccer fans have the opportunity to support their favorite national team in nearby cities - Atlanta at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium.
