The Teaser for the New “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” Series

Almost 15 years after the release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” HBO Max released the teaser for the brand new Harry Potter series. The first season, set to air on Dec. 25, 2026, follows the events of the first book, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”

The teaser begins with a depiction of Harry Potter (Dominic McLaughlin) as he struggles with life in Little Whinging, Surrey, England. Through bullies’ torments and Aunt Petunia (Bel Powley)’s lectures, it’s clear that Harry has a hard time fitting in.

This all changes when Harry is shown holding the iconic letter granting him the opportunity to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This prompts the teaser to switch towards a magical tone as iconic scenes including the Hogwarts Express and the Sorting Ceremony fill the screen. Lovable characters including Hagrid (Nick Frost), Ron Weasley (Alastair Stout) and Hermione Granger (Arabella Stanton) also make their appearances.

Overall, the teaser promises a spellbinding series, holding strong to the books that fans know and love.
