How Much More Until It’s Not Human?
Dr. Dre Promotes AI as a Tool to Create Music

André Young, known as Dr. Dre, is an American rapper and music producer. He founded N.W.A., cofounded Death Row Records and later produced three solo studio albums. Dre also found success in producing music, working with prominent rappers such as Eminem and Snoop Dogg. He has won seven Grammy Awards out of his 26 nominations, signaling his success in the music industry.
Recently, Dre has expressed his opinions on the use of AI in music production during an interview for The New York Times. During this interview, he asserted that people against the use of AI would have also been against the creation of technology like drum machines or synthesizers, which aid in music production today.
"I don't see it as a threat," Dre said. "I think the only people that see it as a threat are the people who have trouble creating."
While Dre has not specifically attributed any of his work to being aided by AI, he admitted to using the technology to produce some of his music. With the use of AI in creative realms being a frequent debate through society, his admission is somewhat shocking.
