On Sept. 2, Maclay’s Upper School hosted their annual club fair for the 2026 school year in the Cartee Gym. A variety of student-led and faculty-sponsored clubs are available to the Upper School, ranging from academic organizations to hobby clubs.

Popular competitive academic clubs include Mu Alpha Theta, where students compete in math competitions; Brain Bowl, which challenges students’ trivia knowledge; and Astronaut Challenge, where students experience space simulations that emphasize teamwork.

Maclay also offers nationally recognized clubs, such as National Art Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Rho Kappa, Science National Art Society and more. To join these clubs, students have to meet certain requirements, such as GPA, taking certain classes or service hours.

Finally, Maclay offers service-oriented clubs that allow students to be involved both on and off campus. These include Maclay Community Service Club (MCSC), Ears for Elders and Maclay Event Specialists Club. MCSC supports the Maclay community and local organizations. Ears for Elders allows volunteers to conduct legacy recordings and support residents in the Villas at Killearn Lakes. Maclay Event Specialists Club lets students help plan and volunteer at sports games, pep rallies and school assemblies.

“MCSC brings unity to the Maclay community,” MCSC Secretary Sophia Warfel said. “The club shows how everyone cares and works together to make a difference.”

These numerous opportunities offer students a variety of opportunities to express themselves and get involved in Maclay’s community.
