The Maclay boys soccer team was recently recognized by both Senator Corey Simon at the Florida Capital and Tallahassee Mayor John E. Dailey at City Hall. They were also featured numerous times on the WCTV television station, including at the WCTV studio, where Head Coach Andy Warner, top goalscorer Zac Scovotto and senior defender Colin Edwards gave interviews.
The Maclay boys soccer team had won the 2025 FHSAA 2A Boys Soccer State Championship this season after beating Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy 3-1 in the final match on March 1. Ranked sixth in the nation, the team finished with a 21-1-2 record, scoring 139 goals and conceding 13. They lost only once this season, to Tampa Preparatory School, whom they later beat in the state semifinal game.
The Tallahassee Democrat released the All-Big Bend Boys Soccer teams, which honors the best boys soccer players in the Big Bend region. The Maclay players that were awarded first team include senior Scovotto as a forward; junior Luke Daunt and seniors Barnes Ray and Gavin Slocum as midfielders; seniors Josh DeKloet, Edwards and Vuk Usina as defenders; and junior Max Colon as goalkeeper. Scovotto was also awarded the title of All-Big Bend Boys Soccer Player of the Year, and Warner was named All-Big Bend Boys Soccer Coach of the Year.
