Rueben Bain Involved in a Fatal 2024 Car Accident

A shocking story involving former Miami Hurricanes defensive end Rueben Bain Jr. has hit the sports world, as he was found to be involved in a 2024 car crash in which a passenger later died.

On March 17, 2024, Bain was cited for careless driving for the accident, which occurred in the early morning of that day in Miami, Fla. on the highway. The report of the crash stated that Bain had three passengers in the car, two being some of his fellow Hurricanes teammates and the other being a woman named Destiny Betts. Bain’s car reportedly rear-ended another car, swerved into a concrete barrier, then hit another barrier before coming to a stop.

Betts was taken to a local hospital in Miami, where she was in a coma for three months before succumbing to her injuries and passing away on June 14, later that same year. As previously mentioned, Bain was cited for the accident, but the charges were dropped prior to Betts’ death.

As of right now, Bain is projected to be a top 15 pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL draft; however, it is unclear if this information will hurt his draft stock.
