Show Some Spirit
Maclay’s Homecoming Week Themes are Announced

Homecoming week is full of fun and festivities, with games, pep rallies and most importantly, dress up days. This year, Homecoming falls on Sept. 26, making the spirit week Sept. 21-25. For the week leading up to Homecoming, Maclay Student Council has organized creative and exciting themes for the whole of Maclay to participate in during the dress up days.
This year’s dress up days were released on Aug. 31, with some classics making their return along with some fresh themes. To start the week, Monday is Most Valuable Player (MVP) day, when students will come dressed as their favorite player or represent a team’s pride. Tuesday is Toon Tuesday, when students will face off as Nickelodeon or Disney characters. Wednesday sees the return of the classic dress up day: color wars. For this day, the grades are separated into four teams. Kindergarten, fourth grade, eighth grade and 12th grade are blue dolphins. Pre-K 4, third, seventh and 11th are the green turtles. Pre-K 3, second, sixth and tenth are pink starfish, and first, fifth, ninth, faculty and staff are yellow sponges. On Thursday, students should wear their best beach attire, and on Friday, they’ll showcase their Maclay spirit in blue and white.
Students look forward to spirit week as an opportunity for them to connect with the Maclay community through school pride.
