Gallery: Maclay’s High School Hosts Its Annual Winter Spirit Week Before Exam Week

A Bittersweet Goodbye: There is a brief ceremony for retiring maintenance staff member, Glenn. The faculty worked together to bring in special cards and gift cards as a farewell thank-you for his work. Glenn has worked at Maclay for 40 years.

A Gift To Remember: Andalusian Faculty Supervisor Julia Croston is gifted magnets of student leaders Blair Bayliss and Kate Bascom. They made the gift themselves and included sophomore Everett Slocum as a bonus.

Faculty Fun: Teachers Justin Vantassel and Jessica Kerner get together for a quick photo in their fun holiday outfits. Vantassel is dressed as one of Santa’s elves.

Presents Under The Tree: The winners of the ugly sweater contest hold their grand prize, a giant Sour Patch Kids box. Next to them is the third-place winner, holding his prize: a candy cane filled with Hershey’s Kisses.

Pretty In Pink: Juniors Reagan Pickles, Keelie Crumbaker, Regan Mayfield and sophomore Ivy Reinhart come together for a picture in their Monday PJs.

Say Cheese: Senior Sophie Lombard and juniors Josie Russo, Maddie Yaegar and Lauren Ferraro pose together for a photo in their comfiest PJs on Pajama Day.

Staying Warm: Student Council sponsors a hot chocolate bar before and during the ugly sweater contest. Junior Sophie Fasig is in charge of adding whipped cream onto the hot chocolate.

Stealing The Spotlight: After the ugly sweater contest, faculty members take a group photo dressed in their festive Christmas outfits.

Takes The Cake: Bayliss happily opens her Secret Santa gift from sophomore Ethan Woodring. It is a functional mini camera that can attach to a keychain.
