Coming off a tough loss to the Lincoln Trojans the previous night, the girls' varsity volleyball team was able to get back into the win column. On Tuesday, Aug. 26, the girls won a close game against the Liberty County Bulldogs, coming out on top three sets to two.

“We all had such [high] energy going into the game,” junior Bella Krizner said. “We honestly were just feeding off each other's excitement and were able to use that to execute.”

The girls started off hot, taking the first two sets with ease to make the score 2-0 early on. However, the Bulldogs managed to put up a fight and made a comeback, tying the match by taking the next two sets, setting the score at 2-2 and taking the match to the final set.

“The night before we lost a five set match and it's a game we should have won,” junior Kate Hartmann said. “So we had a lot of intensity to make sure we won against Liberty County.”

The Marauders were able to stick together and come out victorious, winning the last set 15-7. With the win over the Bulldogs, the Marauders improved to a 2-3 record on the season. Their next game comes against the Valwood Valiants on Thursday, Aug. 28, where they hope to keep adding to their win column.
