Maclay Marauders vs. North Florida Christian

The Maclay Marauders became 7-1 after beating North Florida Christian (NFC) on Friday, Oct. 17. The final score of the district championship game was 43-20. This was the first time that the Marauders beat NFC two years in a row and the first time on NFC’s field. After scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter, the Marauders were set to win the game.
“To prepare for a game like this everyone had to learn and do their assignments while putting our ego to the side and playing as a team,” senior Abram Wildrick said. “We also had to have some pride on defense every drive to stop them so we could set the tone.”
The players came into the game prepared to win. This game was really important to them because it was their district championship game. The Marauders were ready to start a new winning streak like earlier in the season.
“My favorite part was celebrating with the team after the game,” junior Drew Lamendola said.
The Marauders have played very well this season and hope to get the chance to play their playoff games. The Marauders will play Deerfield-Windsor on Friday, Oct. 24, in their second to last game of the regular season.
