Knife Attack Leaves Two Hospitalized

According to police, two women, including one carrying an infant, were stabbed Wednesday, Sept. 10 in Cascades Park and taken to a hospital.
The attack happened shortly before 7 p.m. Witnesses reported that the suspect was armed with a knife about 10 inches long. Approximately six minutes after the stabbing, the man jumped into a pond in the center of the park, and witnesses report that he appeared unable to swim. Maclay senior Ben Wagnon witnessed the incident.
“I was at an FSU run club [in Cascades Park], hanging out after our run, " Wagnon said. “People started screaming that someone had a knife and was stabbing people. We saw the suspect jump in the water, then the police came.”
Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s name or any possible motive. The conditions of the victims were not immediately available, and neither has spoken publicly about the incident.
Police continue to investigate the tragedy.
