The Marauders played the Leon Lions for their fourth game of the season on Wednesday, Aug. 26. Coming off a hard-fought victory against Liberty County the night before, the girls were hoping to claim another win against the Lions. However, despite a promising beginning, they were unsuccessful in achieving their hopes.

“The team went in with a positive mindset and high energy, which helped us come out strong from the start,” senior captain Camryn Chittenden said. “We communicated well on the court and stayed focused on building momentum.”

The ladies started the game on fire, making countless plays against the Lions to light up the scoreboard as they won the first set 25-23. However, the Marauders' success stopped there as Leon began to catch up, dominating the next set 25-17. Things kept getting worse as the girls would blow an 8-0 lead in the third set to lose 25-19. Finally, they lost the last set 25-21, ending the game in a 3-1 defeat.

The Lady Marauders hope they can get back on track as they travel on the road to play the Chiles Timberwolves on Friday, Aug. 28.
