Maclay Varsity Girls Soccer vs. Lincoln Trojans

The Maclay girls soccer team played against the Lincoln Trojans on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025. The Marauders were ready for a comeback after losses during their weekend annual overnight trip.
Starting off the game, Lincoln and Maclay stayed evenly matched, with the game staying tied for the majority of the first half. Though an unfortunate handball in the box caused Lincoln to be rewarded with a penalty kick (PK). This resulted in a goal by Lincoln making the score 1-0.
“At one point, we got a little tension between teammates,” senior Claire Smith said. “But we worked it out by halftime and pulled ourselves together to end in a draw.”
With the Marauders down in the first half, the tension was higher than ever. In the third quarter, Maclay got the opportunity they needed. After a quick header by Claire Lawler, Mallory VanLeuven knocked the ball in making the score 1-1 which ended up being the final score of the game.
After this game, the Marauders are now 1-4-1 and are scheduled to play at home against the Florida High Seminoles on Dec. 2.
