Maclay Varsity Girls Golf Match Recap

On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the Maclay Marauders varsity girls golf team matched up against Leon, Florida High and Chiles at Golden Eagle Country Club. The Marauders tied with Florida High and Leon was disqualified due to only having one player. Florida High's Peyton Johnson got first overall in the match.
“I think something we did really well was our ability to stay in that top position as a team, regardless of how we did individually,” sophomore Reese Erwin said. “The team lifted each other up by rooting for each other on the last hole.”
The Maclay Marauders tied for first place with stellar performances from Molly Sprague who placed third with a score of 45 and Addie Sprague who placed fourth with a score of 46. They were followed by Trisha Patel who placed sixth, Reese Erwin who placed ninth, Emma Holt Upton who placed tenth and Emmeline Cone placed 14th.
The Maclay girls golf team has a tournament in Fort Walton Beach on Monday, Oct. 6, and are looking forward to coming back with a win. As we near the end of fall sports now is the time to come and support our Maclay Marauders.
