The Maclay Marauders dropped their record to 7-3 after travelling to Defuniak Springs, Fla. to play the Walton Braves on Friday, Oct. 31. The Marauders were hoping to become 8-2, but could not pull out the win, with the Braves beating the Marauders 43-13.

“Last night's game was pretty upsetting because it was our second loss in a row,” sophomore Ford Brown said. “As a team, we could have communicated better, tackled better and played better together.”

The last time the Marauders played at the Braves home stadium, they lost 45-14, so they were hoping that they would be able to win this time.

While the football players were playing hard to try to win, the cheerleaders got to show their halloween spirit by dressing up in costume. Each grade had a different theme. The seniors were smurfs, the juniors were Alice in Wonderland, the sophomores were Disney Princesses and the freshmen were Alvin and the Chipmunks.

“My favorite part of last night's game was getting to dress up and spend Halloween with my teammates,” junior Keelie Crumbaker said. “Even though we did not win, we still had fun cheering the football team on.”

The Marauders tried their hardest to win on Halloween, but did not pull it through. They hope to win their next game and continue on through the playoffs. The Marauders return to the field on Friday, Nov. 14.
