The Marauders played the Wildcats for their last game of the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 9. This game was a special one, as it was senior night for seniors Addison Davis and Izzi Ward. The girls were looking to end the season strong and give Davis and Ward a night to remember; however, they fell short, losing a close game against the Wildcats.

“The main struggle was our energy,” said Ward. “I feel like Valdosta from the start had more energy than us and ultimately wanted the win more.”

The Lady Marauders struggled  to get anything going for them, as they only managed to win the second set. Apart from that set, it was total domination by the Wildcats all night as it seemed as if they were too much for the Marauders to handle. The Wildcats would go on to win the next two sets, leading to them being victorious.

With the rough loss on senior night, the girls finished the regular season 13-11, but they still have the playoffs to look forward to. The Marauders will have to wait for the reveal of their playoff opponent before they take the court again. In the meantime, the ladies have lots to improve on to make sure they are not first round exits.
