Maclay Boys and Girls Varsity Swimming vs the Chiles Timberwolves

The boys and girls Marauder varsity swim teams took on the Chiles Timberwolves in their second home meet of the season. Both squads were hoping to keep the momentum going after a strong first home meet against the Rickards Raiders. Unfortunately, the Marauders were unsuccessful in reaching that goal.
The boys and girls would both fall short to the Timberwolves, with the boys losing 597-486 and the girls losing 607-465, as the Marauders would combine to lose the meet by an overall score of 1204-951. However, it was not all bad for the Marauders as multiple swimmers would win their individual events. Junior William Chen would place first in the 50 yard freestyle, and freshman Oliva Holt would place first in her 100 yard butterfly, each securing 20 points for their respective teams. Furthermore, the girls would win their 200 Medley Relay with efforts from Holt, seventh grader Emmie Sutton, eighth grader Eliza Horton, and junior Molly Lambert.
“I feel the start of the season has been good,” freshman Lucas Purdue said. “I think we will rebound at the next meet.”
Despite the loss, the Marauders feel satisfied with the meet and happy with how the season has started. Both squads hope to rebound against the Leon Lions on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
