In September of the 2026-27 school year, students taking AP United States Government and Politics were required to send out polls relating to a topic of their choosing. These polls were five questions long, with a required question to indicate the participants’ political affiliation. The goal of this assignment was to find a connection between the responses and indicated political identities.

The poll topics cover political policies, with some asking about AI usage, border control, abortion, social media and education funding. It was imperative for AP Gov students to ask unbiased questions in order to receive the most truthful results, so each poll was anonymous. Students were also encouraged to use random participants to ensure the greatest diversity, hoping to accurately represent the Upper School. Because of this, many students had the opportunity to answer these polls.

Following this research, students were instructed to create a graph and analysis of the collected data, which they then presented to their class. This project served as an interactive, engaging activity for these students, enhancing their learning about government and politics.
