With the start of the new year, fans are looking to the 25-26 football team for what they have in store for everyone this year. Losing many of the seniors last year, such as quarterback George Grant and wide receiver Nash Beshears, some fans may have thought that those players would leave a big hole, but Maclay's first game proved that wrong. On Friday, Aug. 22, the Marauders played their first game of the season home against Jefferson County. They kicked off the season strong with a score of 31:6, giving the Marauders their first win of the year with their fans showing support in their country and camo wear.

The boys were on a roll, scoring a total of 4 touchdowns and one field goal to total 31 points. They held the field for the first half, allowing only one touchdown for Jefferson County in the second half, but not letting them win their extra point.

Everyone is excited to see what else new Head Coach Arie Slone will contribute as he helps lead the team to more victories.

The football and cheer teams are hoping to see everyone Friday, Aug. 29, for senior night to celebrate their 11 seniors, football before the game at 6:30 and cheer at halftime. The boys have 8 seniors this year, Abram Wildrick, Hunter Sheheane, Wyatt Long, Grayson Stevens, Justin Murphy, Manny Arisso, Ben Thompson and Tyson Willet. For the cheer team, they have 3 seniors, Kate Bascom, Neely Oberste and Claire Smith. Wear your best senior citizen attire to celebrate and cheer the team to another Marauder victory.
