Girls Lacrosse

The girls lacrosse season was filled with high highs and low lows. The Lady Marauders finished with a 8-7 record, losing a thriller to Gainesville in the district tournament 9-8, ultimately ending their season. When the Marauders won, they won big, including a 20-3 win against Fort Walton Beach, 16-0 win against Eastside and 20-2 win against Trinity Catholic. The team was led by juniors Neely Oberste, Addy Papuchis and Molly McDonald, all significantly contributing to the Marauder’s wins.

Boys Lacrosse

Even with the injury bug negatively impacting the boys lacrosse team, they have found success throughout the year, reaching the district championship and qualifying for regionals. With star players including senior Austin Kolman, sophomore Blake Brennan, freshman Barrett Brown and junior Blake Wilson out for the majority of their games, the team battled through the adversity. When Kolman was on the field, the Marauders were led by him and senior captain Carson Stockton, with Kolman leading the team in goals and points and Stockton leading the team in ground balls and takeaways.

Girls & Boys Tennis

The girls tennis team almost played a near perfect season, going undefeated and winning almost 90% of solo and doubles matches. With a 10-0 record, the team dominated their competition, with each opponent not even coming close to winning. In the Lady Marauder’s 124 matches, they won 111 of them and only lost 13 matches all year. The team also stayed hot throughout the district tournament, crushing their opponents and bringing home the district title.

The boys team also played a great season, finishing with a record of 5-5 and also winning the district title. Led by junior Alex Wang and senior John Nowels, the team has shown relentless effort throughout the season.

Girls & Boys Track and Field

Led by seniors Elizabeth Dowdy and Adam Bailey along with juniors Quinton Douglas and Alana Wilson, the Maclay track and field team has shown great strides in every event. From success throughout the season and districts, the team aims to secure the regional championship on May 3 and qualify for states.

Beach Volleyball

While the girls beach volleyball team struggled throughout the year, they left everything on the sand. The team finished with a 2-10 record on the year, beating Sneads twice. Despite this record, the Lady Marauders still found a way to qualify for the regional tournament but wound up losing to TEAM in the first round. Even with the disappointing season, players such as junior Izzi Ward, seniors Kayla Iarossi, Gray Burleson and Ava Molthen provided consistent leadership.

Boys Weightlifting

The Maclay boys weightlifting team exceeded expectations this season, with senior captain Andrew Berenson and junior Justin Murphy both qualifying for the state meet, where Berenson placed fifth and Murphy seventh. The team also had 14 competitors qualify for districts, 10 of whom placed and nine qualified for regionals.
