Before games on the lacrosse field, each team has their own way of preparing. For the Maclay boys lacrosse team, they have various kinds of preseason workouts. Whether it is weightlifting or conditioning, you are bound to see this team working out early in the morning. This past week, the team went through an intense early morning conditioning program. The goal of this program is two-fold; it gets the players in prime physical condition while bonding them as teammates.
“It was difficult,” senior Carson Stockton said. “It was a great start but we need to keep the intensity up all year.”
These workouts marked the beginning of the long lacrosse season ahead. But, these preseason workouts are making the team much stronger despite them being so intense.
“It is tough both mentally and physically,” junior Blake Wilson said. “It completely sucks all the way through but the feeling of completion is sweet.”
Maclay is on track to be extremely ready when the season comes around on Feb. 14, when the Marauders take on West Florida in their first game.
