Being a senior is exciting, with all dreams since they were young coming true. For the Marauder cheer and football teams, this is exactly how Friday night went during their senior night. Maclay played their senior night game against the Brookwood Warriors on Friday, Aug. 29. Maclay blew out Brookwood beating them 45-14, moving the Marauders record to 2-0 on the season.

“My favorite part of senior night was how special my team made me feel,” senior Claire Smith said. “They were truly so thoughtful about every single detail of the night.”

At the beginning of the game, football players along with their families walked the field. The players were honored for all of their achievements and dedication to the sport. At half time, the cheerleaders also walked down the field. Head cheer coach Kelly Hutchinson appreciated them for all of their hard work throughout high school, while their own personal advice for their teammates or favorite memories were read aloud.

The Marauder seniors stepped up and played their hardest to take home a win on senior night. The team plays their next game on Friday, Sept. 5 home against the Marianna Bulldogs, hoping to keep adding to their winning streak.
