A Hard Fought Win
Maclay Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. the Community Christian School Chargers
On Thursday, Sept. 3, the Lady Marauders faced off against the Community Christian School Chargers. Maclay went into this game looking to climb above .500 on the season, and with a commanding win over the Chargers, the Marauders did just that. The girls won all three sets in dominating fashion, keeping their foot on the gas the whole time.
“We practice hard every time we step on and off the court through team bonding,” freshman Eloise Barstow said. “I think that really helps us play better overall as a team.”
The Marauders played a spectacular game, as the offense kept scoring. The ladies jumped off to a fast start putting points on the board immediatley, and this starting momentum allowed them to bring home a dominant 3-0 victory. The team credits their pregame routine for their success.
“Before a game, we have a little serve and pass drill before we drink our tropical smoothie smoothies, and then we get ready to play,” sophomore Stella Osiecki said. “I usually pray before every game as well.”
The Lady Marauders are away for their next game against the Richmond Hill Wildcats on Wednesday, Sept. 9, where they hope to pull out another win.
