Shooting In Austin, Texas Leaves Three Dead

On March 1, tragedy struck in Austin, TX. On Sixth Street, a barrage of bullets was sent flying, leaving three dead and a dozen injured. The violence erupted on the street which typically is known for its dense concentration of bars and live music, being a short drive from the University of Texas. The suspect drove west on Sixth Street after shooting out of his car window before exiting the vehicle with a rifle and shooting people walking by. The three deaths were 19-year-old Ryder Harrington, 21-year-old Savitha Shan and 30-year-old Jorge Pederson.
Authorities are currently investigating the motive for this horrific crime, as the suspect was shot and killed by the police. Authorities currently believe that the motive might have been the U.S. strikes on Iran. The suspect, 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne, had not previously been imprisoned or known for committing a crime. The suspect was wearing a shirt with an Iranian flag design, and investigators are currently looking for connections between the country and the suspect.
