After the snow break for the Lady Marauders, the girls basketball team played their second game away versus North Florida Christian on Saturday, Jan. 25. The Marauders won the first game of the season 40-35 and knew the second game would be a battle once again. However, the roles were reversed as they ended the game with a 46-38 loss.
“We really wanted to win, especially because it's a rival school,” sophomore Sophia Vanasten said. “We need to improve on ball movement, passing and we all got angry during the game with each other and that did not help us.”
The girls came out of the locker room 20 points down, trying to keep their heads up. They were able to shorten the gap a little, but it was not enough to win the game.
“Our defense was pretty good at the game, our shots just weren't falling and couldn't develop our offense,” captain Lauren Guyer said. “For the next game, we really worked on practicing our passes and other options to use when running our plays.
The Lady Marauders will play their next game on Tuesday, Jan. 28 against Wakulla, hoping to make up for the loss that they were faced with.
