New Spinoff of “The Big Bang Theory” Sitcom Announced

“The Big Bang Theory” was a popular sitcom that ran for 12 seasons from 2007 to 2019. The show aired weekly episodes on Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS), with 279 total episodes released. The show takes place around the Caltech campus and mainly focuses on the events and issues of a friend group made up of four men and three women. There are also many prominent side characters, including Stuart Bloom, his girlfriend Denise, Barry Kripke, Wil Wheaton and Bert Kibbler.
At an investor meeting in April 2023, the producers of “The Big Bang Theory,” Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, noted the show’s success and revealed that they would create a new spinoff. They recently announced that this spinoff would be named “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,” starring Stuart and featuring Denise, Kripke and Bert from the original show. The plot is expected to revolve around Stuart’s attempt to restore reality.
“‘Stuart Fails to Save the Universe’ will find Sussman's Stuart tasked with restoring reality after breaking a device built by ‘The Big Bang Theory's’ Sheldon and Leonard,” Entertainment Weekly writer Randall Colburn said. “This mishap accidentally brings about a multiverse Armageddon.”
