Celebrating the Start of the NFL Season

As we move into fall, the NFL season has officially started with their regular season games. Teams like the Buffalo Bills have started off strong with having a win streak of 3 after beating the Miami Dolphins. Other teams like the New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets, however, are not doing so well, as they have lost all three of their games so far. As the season continues, there are some players and rookies who have already gotten hurt.

After only three weeks into the NFL season, there have been many injuries; the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have suffered many injuries to their offensive line. Some of these players are offensive guard Cody Mauch who injured his knee during their game against the Houston Texans, right tackle Luke Goedeke who injured his foot causing him to have to miss four games and offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs who injured his foot while playing against the San Francisco 49ers; Wirfs will be out until Sept, 28. Additionally, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow sprained a joint in his toe while playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He will be out for at least three months and need surgery before he returns. 

On the positive side, there are many new players to watch that have entered the NFL. For example, Cam Ward was drafted by the Tennessee Titans as quarterback. Ward was the first pick and previously played at the University of Miami; even earlier, he played at the University of Incarnate Word where he won the Jerry Rice award. So far this season,he has had two touchdown passes. Travis Hunter was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the second pick. He is a wide receiver and cornerback and played college football for Jackson State University and the University of Colorado Boulder. Another rookie is Abdul Carter who was drafted by the New York Giants as an edge rusher and already has .5 sacks. Before, he played at Penn State University where he trained to get to where he is today.

Many people have tried to predict who will play in the Super Bowl, some think that the Baltimore Ravens will play the Detroit Lions or the Philadelphia Eagles, while others believe that the Bills will end on top. The undefeated teams so far are the Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Cults, Los Angeles Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers. Most of these teams are expected to win their few next games. 

After winning the Super Bowl, the Chiefs were predicted to do good this year. However, with their two losses they acquired at the start of the season, it will be interesting to see if they will pull it back or fall from the dynasty this season. They recently won against the Giants with the final score being 22-9. The Chiefs next game is against the Ravens and they are expected to lose.

Fans are patiently waiting to see what this season holds. People are excited to watch the games on Sundays with their families and celebrate their teams as the season continues.
