On Saturday, Sept. 5, around 3 p.m., the Governor’s Square Mall in Tallahassee, Fla. went into lockdown due to a shooting outside the Dillard’s parking garage. After an altercation in the mall, 15-year-old Marvin Gilkes, along with a group of teenagers similar in age, congregated outside the garage. The other party from the previous dispute sped out of the garage.

As their vehicle sped by, Gilkes began shooting. He appeared to be in hopes of emptying his clip, since he continued firing even after the car was out of sight. In the process, he hit a family’s black Mercedes. No injuries were reported, but both cars took bullets.

Gilkes was found and arrested on a property within Tallahassee city limits; his charges include firing into an occupied conveyance, possession of a firearm by a delinquent and probation violation. He will be tried as an adult.

In addition, the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) arrested 18-year-old Ronderick Troupe and an unidentified 14-year-old. They were charged with possession of illegal drugs and probation violation, respectively.
