On April 30, 2025, President Donald J. Trump completed the first 100 days in office of his second presidency. During this time, Trump has signed 141 executive orders and has reshaped American policy on immigration, the economy and the federal government.

Concerning immigration, Trump has plummeted crossings at the U.S. southern border, and he has adjusted a few border policies made by Biden. Additionally, he has significantly increased deportations across the country, and he has removed access to asylum through the southern border.

Trump also initiated a trade war with China, Canada and Mexico. After placing a 90 day pause on tariffs, he raised the tax rate on imports from China to 145% after receiving much retaliation. Additionally, he periodically placed tariffs on Mexico and Canada, despite both countries promising retaliation.

Since he took office, Trump has laid off over 275,000 federal civil service employees and has started to dismantle DEI policies. He has claimed to be doing so in order to save money, but there is much dispute over how much is actually being saved.
